PRP Microneedling

Here at Refresh & Renew MedSpa in Clarkston, Michigan, we’re thrilled to offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) microneedling, an advanced form of microneedling skin treatments. PRP microneedling uses your body’s own plasma to generate collagen, dramatically improve the tone and texture of your skin and reduce wrinkles, fine lines, stretch marks and scars.

PRP microneedling is administered using a small device that is gently passed over the skin to create micro-injuries on the skin's surface, which is followed by the application of your platelet-rich plasma. This procedure stimulates the body's natural healing response and tells the body to produce new collagen and elastin.

This safe, minimally-invasive treatment represents a major evolution of skincare science that takes traditional microneedling to the next level. After you get this powerhouse treatment at Refresh & Renew MedSpa in Oakland County, you’ll walk out of our doors looking brighter, smoother and more refreshed.

How PRP Microneedling Works

Here’s a look at what you can expect during a PRP microneedling treatment at Refresh & Renew MedSpa near Lake Orion, MI. Don’t worry – if you’re not interested in having your blood drawn, there are other skin-boosting topicals our practitioners can use in its place.

Step 1: Your practitioner will begin by applying a topical anesthetic to the treatment area.

Step 2: Then, a small needle will be used to draw a sample of your blood.

Step 3: Your blood sample then spins in a centrifuge to separate the platelets (a blood cell that helps with healing) and concentrate them in the plasma (the liquid portion of the blood).

Step 4: The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed.

Step 5: Your practitioner will use the microneedling device to microneedle the treatment area while topically applying your PRP. This allows the PRP to enter the tiny microchannels, which serve as direct passages to the deeper levels of your skin.
